Product Description
Kurt is a gold/silversmith skilled in the technique of hand wrought jewelry. He was born and raised on St. Croix, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He has followed in his father's footsteps, creating a successful career making jewelry at Sonya's Corner Shop for 12 years and now part owner at KMC Jewelers with his wife. Kurt also competed for the Virgin Islands Shooting Team for 15 years. He competed in the 2003 Pan Am Games and several Olympic Trials. Kurt also played the Drums for many years on the island of St.Croix with several Bands.
Michelle was born in California then grew up in New Mexico, active in sports and rodeo as well as spending time with family. In 2002 Michelle was the first woman in the US to get her Four Gun IDPA designation. Next in 2005,she earned a spot on the U.S. Women Shooting Team winning many medals and ranking as high as 4th in the U.S. Michelle is currently in her 25th year as a middle school teacher in Amarillo Texas. She also won teacher of the year in 2010. And above all, she is a Great Artist and Silversmith,And...my beautiful Wife !
Kurt and Michelle met in Puerto Rico, shooting at the Championships of the Americas in 2005. She competed for the USA Olympic Team and he for the Virgin Islands Olympic Team. Michelle won two Team Silver Medals that weekend. Kurt had to wait until 2007 before he won a Bronze medal in Air Pistol. So, I guess you could call them "shooting sweethearts." They couldn't stay apart for very long, so Kurt moved to Amarillo and they were married in 2007 and then later that year they opened their jewelry store at the Galleries at Sunset (Sunset Center). It's a true story!
